My Autobiography

Hello and welcome to my blog for ICT Language Info Tech Blog.
My name is Felipe Molina and I teach English for business in Plus Language CEIPA. I also work at IME teaching English for cooking, early childhood education and computers.

I was born in Medellin.
I am married and have two kids (Juan José & Ethan), and one nephew (Jerónimo). I don’t live with my family but I love them all.

I went to the military when I was 18. I spent one year serving the country and I feel I really enjoyed that time. I did a lot to things and learned a lot about weapons, rifles specially. I used to enjoy the controlled training sessions and that is why I continue to exercises when I have some spare time.

I love working out. That makes feel happy and peaceful.
I am studying Foreign Language Teaching for both English and French at the Language School of the University of Antioquia.
I have worked in many different places. I started teaching 5 years ago in government school and from that moment on, I have always worked as a teacher. During this time, I have had many enriching experiences as for example when I worked for Bilingual Antioquia. In those days I had to travel a lot to different municipalities of Antioquia and my job was to train teachers from government local schools. It was quite a challenge to come to those places and tell those teachers the Do’s and Don’t’s about how to learn English and how to prepare classes to transmit that knowledge to their students. I really loved that job.

Another very important and satisfactory experience has been the use of video production in the learning and practice of English as foreign language. It all started when one day I wanted to have audio recorded the role-plays my students had as homework. Once I listened to the first files, I found them exiting and extremely funny at times, too. Thus, I continued to do so, but later my desire went on to wanting to try the video production. I made my students to enrol in an online course about how to make short-films. Soon, they learn all of the basic concepts about video, camera angles, movements, types of shots and more. Our first production was called Beyond the Dreams. We participated in the National School Filminuto in Ciudad de Cali and luckily, we got a third place. As time passed, we continued to make short-films and at the same time to improve by using new techniques and more advanced software for video edition. Something I can say is students were indeed motivated and felt much better. This activity helped, in a manner, to develop friendship in students, led them to learn more about teamwork and to distribute responsibilities, and last but not the least, to learn English by having fun.

I have never been outside the country but I am prepared to travel worldwide for any assignment or job. I am one of those persons capable of doing anything, at least trying hard until I got some outcome. I like to improvise, adapt what I have in my hands and to overcome to get what I want.

My spare time I use it in hobbies such as working out, playing the drums and playing computer games. I love eating out and going to the movies. I am quite fan of going to the cinema. Every time there is something on premier, I do not miss it for the world. The last year I watch 48 premiers in only 12 months, besides those I watched on Netflix and all of the seasons of the walking Dead.
